Due Process Instead of Destruction
Think of the last conflict that destroyed a community you belonged to — what process, had it existed, would have metabolized it instead?
Communities handle conflict with the only tools their platforms provide: pile-ons, bans, exodus, and lawsuits — escalation or suppression, never metabolism — so every serious disagreement costs a community members it needn't have lost.
Conflict as a process with rails: published rules, randomly drawn judges, cited rulings, automatic consequences, one appeal, redemption clocks — disagreement processed into precedent instead of exile.

The system is built to monetize grievance, not resolve it — attention platforms sell the pile-on, the legal industry bills the escalation, and moderation-by-fiat manufactures martyrs on every side. That's why it stays broken: resolution ends the billing — outrage media loses the story, litigation loses the hours, crisis-PR loses the crisis — so every professionalized layer around conflict is structurally longer-is-better. The inefficiency amplifies itself: unresolved grievance compounds into identity, identity into faction, and factions generate conflict faster than any process can retire it. The business types that profit: the litigation and arbitration industry billing by duration, crisis-PR and reputation firms on both sides of every fight, outrage media for whom resolution is cancellation, and platforms whose moderation opacity keeps every ruling a fresh scandal.
