Provable Good
What problem in your community could ten committed strangers actually fix — and why haven't they found each other?
Collective action online terminates in symbols — petitions that harvest emails, awareness that raises awareness of itself, campaigns whose deliverable is the campaign — while the actual repair the six pillars demand happens rarely, locally, and invisibly.
Action with a spine: groups formed around problems, resources pledged against purposes, work logged and attested by witnesses, outcomes on the permanent record — "we did this" as a verifiable claim, not a vibe.
the platform's proudest page being neither feed nor forum but the action ledger — real repairs, real attestation, real dates; the Tournament's champion mission actually *completed* and archived as proof the pipeline runs end to end.
the Stoics completed every analysis of judgment the same way — assent issues in *impulse*, and impulse in *act*. A community that deliberates, decides, and never acts has practiced only half the discipline. The action layer is assent finishing its arc in the world.
Circles (the action layer — formed on problems, pooled resources, attested logs on the ledger) and the Neural Pollinator (Chambers incubating ideas; the Tournament crowning the community's mission) (`CIRCLES_SPEC`, `NEURAL_POLLINATOR_SPEC`). This is the second half of the mission sentence — *"…and fix real problems together"* — and at maturity it grows into the Chains of Responsibility and Impact.
A settled position, stated plainly and kept honest by repair: if this analysis is wrong, it should be visibly wrong enough to be challenged and corrected.
The system is built to simulate action, not perform it — the signature, the share, and the awareness campaign are products whose buyers are organizations and whose currency is your contact information and sentiment. That's why it stays broken: symbolic action scales and monetizes while real action is local, slow, and unbillable — so the professionalized layer optimizes for the measurable proxy and the proxy replaces the deed. The inefficiency amplifies itself: every symbolic victory that changes nothing teaches participants that action is theater, cynicism suppresses the next real attempt, and the gap fills with more theater. The business types that profit: petition platforms whose asset is the email list, the awareness-campaign industry billing for impressions of virtue, professional-activism fundraising machines whose growth metric is donors rather than outcomes, and engagement platforms for whom a cause is a content vertical. The lock-in: the theater funds itself; the repair never did. Fixing it starts with the questions below.
Investigation, not agreement; these questions invite someone who disagrees with the Picture to test it, push back, or propose a better account.
